President Obama last week sought to distance himself from the National Labor Relations Board attack on Boeing's attempt to shift some aircraft production to South Carolina.
USA Today offered this recap of the president's dodge.
However, in order to buy the president's excuse that the NRLB is an independent agency, he apparently expects us to overlook how he shaped the agency's tone by appointment. And did so without senate confirmation hearings.
Reports from 2010, including one from Bloomberg news, show business expected the appointment of Craig Becker would lead to a radical shift at the NRLB.
Obama tries to hide behind the excuse the NRLB is an independent agency. But what's happening now with Boeing is exactly the kind of radical change that was expected to follow the president's appointment.
