Rawles' SurvivalBlog hit by hackers

I noticed SurvivalBlog.com appeared to be down earlier this weeekend. Now I see it reports one of its main servers took a cyber-beating:
This past weekend, our server in Sweden was put under a "ping flood" Denial of Service (DOS) attack that at times resulted in 65% packet loss.
JWR urges readers to bookmark both SurvivalBlog's servers in case attacks continue:
http://64.92.111.122/ [U.S. Server]
http://95.143.193.148/ [Swedish Server]
The site appears to be functioning normally as of Monday morning.

The Internet is a vulnerable platform. Those who take it for granted, and don't take steps to increase their own security or create redundancies, do so at their own peril. Redundancies for a home consumer can include having a back-up computer, as well as alternative means to access the Internet (wireless network card or dial-up) if your main service provider fails. A household back-up can also be as simple as having a smartphone.
