Post EMP, or something similar, looks to be the premise behind the upcoming fall series Revolution on NBC.
Don't expect anything deep or practical here. But it may spark some talk about EMP if the show catches on.
Based on the trailer, it looks like no one stockpiled ammo for their ARs or AKs or even their .22s. Muzzle loaders and cross bows are the weapons of choice. It's probably not PC to show civilians with semi-autos in prime time. Then again, the show appears to be set in Chicago, a place with a bit of a reputation for making it hard for people to keep and bear modern, practical arms for self defense.
