Flocks bleat endorsement of Feinstein's bill

Details remain lacking on Senate Bill 150, officially known as "a bill to regulate assault weapons, to ensure that the right to keep and bear arms is not unlimited, and for other purposes." The proposed legislation is sponsored by Senator Dianne Feinstein. If you go to Feinstein's official senate website seeking more information, here's her list of resources:
  • Bill text will be made public after the bill is introduced.

Meanwhile, Senator Feinstein's bill enjoys a wave to mostly positive coverage in the media after yesterday's show and tell, complete with a display of guns she and her cohorts label as assault weapons (DHS has a different name for similar implements).

Many of those reporting or endorsing Feinstein's bill haven't bothered to disclose they've not only failed to read it, but that access to the text remains, as of this writing, available only in very tight circles. It's a sleazy strategy. If nothing else, it makes it impossible for others to assess the bill to speak to specifics, insuring media coverage remains mostly a cheer leading affair.

By the time the bill receives wider circulation, we'll be into a weekend cycle where most  Americans tune out from news and political affairs.
