Paper: Police need the ability to kill lots of people

Editorial in the Salt Lake Tribune:
"Assault weapons that can fire numerous times in seconds are designed for only one thing: killing large numbers of people. The military and law enforcement officers need that ability; ordinary law-abiding citizens do not."
How many people do the police need to kill, and under what circumstances? The Trib doesn't say.

Never thought the day would come when American media would advocate for an American police state where authorities possess the means to conducted unchallenged mass killing. But taken at face value, that's what's expressed here.

I do not recognize what the media has become. Many have abandoned their role as champions of liberty and the rights of the people, and are now no more than puppets for a collectivist state.
