Selling out the Constitution for sight unseen proposals

Gallup reports polling data suggests that 53 percent of Americans support new gun control laws advocated by the president. Gallup asked the question like this:
Next, as you may know, yesterday President Obama proposed a set of new laws designed to reduce gun violence in the United States. From what you know or have read about this, would you want your representative in Congress for or against these proposed new laws?
The fact that 53 percent of Americans voice support for binding laws where even the earliest of drafts haven't been made public simply blows my mind.

They've learned nothing from the Obamacare debacle. These are also likely some of the same people who previously signed mortgage deals, only to cry "not fair" when they didn't pay and were foreclosed on because they failed to understand the original conditions.

Will the slumbering masses move out of low information mode in time to see what's happening before it's too late?
