Prior to his remarks, Obama met with a group of two dozen officials, including Attorney General Eric Holder, Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton, Sens. Al Franken and Amy Klobuchar and Minnesota U.S. Attorney Todd Jones, the nominee to lead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.It's not had a lot of media attention, but Minnesota lawmakers are apparently working on a New York style anti-gun bill. If Dems can't get traction for federal legislation, they may shoot for a state by state approach, and then use the precedents to weaken resistance for later efforts to encroach on rights now protected under the Second Amendment.
