The media really is clueless about guns

The Associated Press reports on the Obama gun photo.

But someone needs to tell the AP that shotgun and rifle are not synonymous.

Update: The New York Times apparently made the same mistake in its intitial tell of the the story, but then offered a formal correction:

An earlier version of this article misstated the type of weapon that President Obama fired in a photo released Saturday by the White House. It was a shotgun, not a rifle.
