Sent this out to my two Georgia senators in DC via email:
I read with interest how Sen. Schumer rammed his expanded background check bill through the Senate Judiciary Committee, only revealing the meat of his proposal in an amendment as the committee gave approval.
This is not the "honest discussion" Democrats claimed they wanted. This more of the "pass the bill to find out what's in it" nonsense that gave us the Obamacare debacle.
Under the Schumer plan, many sales between two private individuals, if conducted through a licensed federal firearms dealer would be subject to local or state waiting periods of 15 or 30 days (perhaps longer).
The are many other problems with the Schumer plan. Too many to detail here.
It's time to put a stop to the dishonest, disingenuous tactics of those in Congress who wish to dismantle our Second Amendment.
Those in office who allow the deceptive anti-gun agents to move forward are just as guilty as the Feinsteins and Schumers who give birth to this treachery.
