Senate panel approves Feinstein's gun ban bill

The Hill notes approval of Sen. Dianne Feinstein's gun ban bill by the Senate Judiciary Committee was strictly along party lines:
The 10-8 vote came after a heated exchange between Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who Feinstein scolded for giving her a "lecture" on the Constitution.
Here's video of the Cruz-Feinstein exchange:

Feinstein fails to mention some of the exempted weapons in her bill are of such antiquity that they were designed around the time of the American Civil War. Others are of a single shot variety. She's intentionally padded her bill's exemption list to provide political cover as she targets modern sporting rifles like the AR-15 on a path intended to disarm law abiding Americans.
