Progressive Democrats have always leaned toward themes of class envy, hate and vilification to build their political power base.
Today is no different than a century ago. They've just shifted to target (woo) what they see as an easier manipulated, numerically larger contemporary voter base. But their pandering is just as ugly, hate-based and bigoted today as it was in earlier eras.
