An African-American student at Sacramento State University is under fire for her recent work of art – which consisted of “lynching” two white men from a tree on the northern California campus.
The men were reportedly actors and were in no real danger during the project, which took place during the day in early December while students were on campus. The men were hung from a tree with a thick rope. The "artist" claims her work was designed to address an old but standing matter, according to a local TV station.
Gimme a break. The intent here is to stir an old pot, reopen and exacerbate racial divisions and tensions dealt with long ago. Just pretend that they weren't.
Of course, the "artist" had to reverse race roles. Had she "hung" black folk, Sharpton and Jackson and network satellite trucks would have likely been on campus with hours.
