Far as I can tell, only one of victims of the Malaysian Airlines shoot-down over Ukraine has been confirmed to have American citizenship. Thursday's initial reports of 23 Americans among the passengers onboard.
The fact that fewer Americans may have died than first thought doesn't make it any less of a disaster.
Biggest mystery I see is why the airliner was flying over hostile Ukrainian airspace in the first place. Two Ukrainian aircraft had already been brought down by missiles earlier in the week, European civil aviation authorities had to know missile equipped rebels were on a roll.
Was the Malaysian plane where it was supposed to be? Has the airspace been closed after Thursday's incident?
It also appears the Ukraine Security Service uploaded another set of intercepted rebel communications on YouTube. The recordings are alleged to be conversations among rebel operatives regarding their recent acquisition of anti-aircraft missiles.
