Normalizing the police state

It was initially reported Thursday a vast array of militarized law enforcement descended on a small Illinois town for no apparent reason.

And when asked to explain what was going on, authorities initially declined.

Sound like the America you grew up in?

Later, another media outlet disclosed the large array of police and hardware were part of contingent marshaled to raid a home in Madison County. But authorities were still mum on why the raid was conducted, and why such a display of force was staged in support.

Update: It's now reported the target of massive operation was someone allegedly in possession of child pornography. A dozen agents in SUVs couldn't have handled this?
