It's a 1935 political novel by Sinclair Lewis about a firebrand president who sets out to fundamentally change America.
"It Can't Happen Here" was required reading in one of my college lit courses back in the '70s.
Not an exact blueprint for what Obama's doing, but there's enough relevance to make reading it worthwhile.
