Late last month in Cincinnati, a couple claimed their rental property was vandalized because they were a mix-race couple. Racist graffiti was part of the vandalism.
Turns out, a former tenant is now charged with doing the damage, a recent eviction, not race, appears to be primary motive.
The couple didn't deserve what was done to the house. But how thoroughly did they check out the tenant and his girlfriend prior to their move-in? Online records in Hamilton County, Ohio seemingly show the tenants racked up a long list of previous evictions, and the guy that's charged has a history of criminal vandalism.
Landlording's a tough biz. And there's a bunch of wackos out there who will take advantage of those who don't thoroughly vet prospective tenants.

Then there's this gem out of New York.
Police say a Muslim teen made up a story about being accosted by white guys invoking Trump's name. Report says the female teen made up the story in an attempt to avoid curfew punishment at home after a night of drinking with friends.
Hey Doug;
ReplyDeleteI also saw a link where a black church was torched and "vote Trump" was spray painted on it. Well a black man was arrested for doing it. Funny how all these "hate crimes" ain't what they appear to be.
